6:00 KaCee wakes me up against my will to go "running" which consisted of her walking like a disabled chicken and me laying in the middle of the road.
6:10ish Raina and Mizelle drove up, jumped out of the car and threw a blanket over my head, scared the poo out of me (hence the cry if I want to, I did cry). Arrived at IHOP and had an AMAZING breakfast of strawberry cheesecake crepes. Yum!
8:00 Went to class
9:00 Went to institute and was questioned about my personal life for about 10 minutes including "most embarrassing moment"which will not be shared at this time
10:00 Violin lesson
11:00 String studies (they played happy birthday brilliantly :)
12:00 Choir (sang happy birthday, sounded awesome!)
so, by now I had received many text messages/phone calls
5:00 was master class
6:00 Fine arts awards ceremony. When Dr. Abegg called me up for mine, he also informed everyone there that it was my birthday...so by now everyone and their mother knows.
at 7:00 I went and accompanied some friends in their institute class
at 7:30 I dropped by the Eccles for the brass quintet concert. In the middle of the concert, in front of everyone, they made me come up on stage and they all played happy birthday to me it was so embarrassing! But nice of them. They did awesome ps
During that concert I got a call from Dr. Abegg and the next day he informed me that I got a full tuition scholarship to SOAP in Powell River, Canada!
so finally at 8 I got to go home, Mizelle made Teriyake burgers which were so amazing!
We also had a cake made by KaCee shaped like music notes. It was funfetti and so so so so good!
Raina gave me Fame for my Birthday and we watched it.
All in all, twas a good birthday, and I only cried once!
Seems like forever ago when I was but an innocent child wearing my horsie pajamas and wearing braces!

Indi and Avatars
The concert went really well considering that we only had music for two days. I was actually worried because I thought that the audience would be extremely mad about there being no guitarists, but they were so considerate and understanding. We even got a standing ovation at the end, and Prof. Caldwell had to come back out on stage because they were still clapping after about 45 seconds! It was pretty cool...the theme was American composers and patriotic music, it turned out better than expected. My favorite was the Raider's march and the Bugler's holiday.
Raider's (not us playing obviously, but you get the idea)
I don't want to post a video of Bugler's holiday, because I loved our trumpeters so much I'm going to find someone who recorded it and post our actual version...it was so good!
I watched Avatar for the first time tonight. Verdict? A. it was NOTHING like I expected, B. I absolutely LOVED it, C. I am now the proud owner of the soundtrack. ( I got a little anxious...such incredible music!)
Bottom line, I stand corrected. I guess you can't judge a book by its cover....That was one of the most incredible movies I have ever seen in my life!
Congratulations Universe (and Warren twins) you win...

Just hair
My hair is FINALLY long enough to braid! I love braids, they are a fast way to do hair but it still looks good. Ah hair, I am never ever cutting you again!
PS Out with the old, in with the new, I'm getting my hair chemically straightened again over the summer. I can't wait!

It's a "bummer"
I was bit in the bum by reality.
Literally...I got up out of my chair and Mizelle informed me that I had a hole in my pants.
But also figuratively. So there was this concert scheduled for this Friday with Mark Small and Peter Clemente, a classical guitar duo, accompanied by the Southwest Symphony. It was supposed to be an incredible concert full of amazing music from Titanic and Barry Manilow to pieces by Vivaldi. It was SUPPOSED to be. Our lovely guitarists are stuck in London because of Volcano ash...none of the airplanes are taking off. It's a real bummer, we've been working on that music for weeks.
So, last night, as in Wednesday, as in two days before our concert is scheduled, we were surprised with a new, lovely stack of music on our stands. As the conductor assured us it will be ok because we have already played all of the pieces in the past, I panicked because this is my first semester playing with the symphony. It's a really good thing I know how to kick sight reading's bum!
Now I know why they make us sight read to audition for anything.
PS They have re scheduled the guitar concert for sometime in May. After school is over. When I am five hours away home for the summer. Thank you reality!
